Moses D. Edwards Jr. was born on September 3, 1987, in Columbus, Ohio, to Moses D. Edwards Sr. and Irabedella Marie Edwards. Raised in a lineage of faith, he was surrounded by leaders, preachers, teachers, and singers whose influence shaped his calling. His paternal grandparents were the late Evangelist Annie Mae Edwards and Harold Edwards, and his maternal grandparents were the late Reverend Robert Davis and Cynthia Davis, who continues to be an important presence in his life.
Under the spiritual guidance of his grandfather, Reverend Robert Davis, Moses grew up in Christian Valley Missionary Baptist Church. At eight years old, he made a bold confession of faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized. He attended Southeast Christian Academy through the 8th grade and graduated from Madison Christian Academy in 2005. At 17, he moved to Cincinnati to begin his studies at the University of Cincinnati, where he joined Iota Phi Theta Fraternity Incorporated in 2006.
Moses is also a proud product of Hosack Street Baptist Church and the mentorship of Dr. Jonathan Morehead, who played a key role in his development as a preacher. Over the years, he has served in various ministry roles, from youth leadership to pastoral ministry, gaining a reputation for his bold preaching style, deep biblical teaching, and community advocacy.
Currently serving as Pastor of First Baptist Church in Chillicothe, Ohio, Moses leads with a vision to grow the church spiritually, physically, and financially. His ministry is marked by a commitment to bridging the gap between tradition and innovation, fostering strong community ties, and mentoring the next generation of leaders.
